We are excited to announce that Pagosa Bible Church will resume on site worship on Sunday, June 7th!!

Please keep in mind a few things as you read through this:
  • We seek to worship God as the Pagosa Bible Church family in as safe a manner as we can.
  • We urge you to return to on-site services when you are comfortable doing so. It is up to each individual to decide.
  • We will continue online Sunday services through our website and Facebook for those that are unsure or unable to return.
  • We will likely miss things and get them wrong. We ask for grace and feedback that is constructive.
  • Things will be different and that is okay. As the government parameters change, the church operations will need to change to stay in compliance. We ask for your patience through our return to worship process.

So, with that said, we have developed a strategy to open the church. We will adjust this strategy, if necessary, to comply with changes in Colorado and local directives. On Sunday, June 7th, we will be opening our sanctuary again for worship in person for those able to attend.

We have decided upon a phased-in approach to our Sunday worship. We are asking that all people practice recommended social distancing as much as possible, including:

  • BE SMART, BE THOUGHTFUL: while you may not have a problem with a hug or handshake, the other person(s) might.
  • Avoid congregating in one spot inside the church building.
  • Do your best to maintain the 6 ft. apart guidelines.
  • Remain in your seat as much as possible.  Sanctuary chairs will be placed to accommodate social distancing. Placement may appear random but will be distributed so that spouses and families can sit together.
  • Remain at home if you in any way feel sick or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19.
  • If you wish to talk and catch up with someone, we encourage you to do that under the portico outside the foyer.
  • In accordance with the state mandate masks are required when entering, leaving and moving around in the building.
  • You are encouraged to bring your own hand sanitizer. We will do our best to have hand sanitizer available. However, due to the nature of our times, it is not always readily available.
Worship services
  • We will go to two services at 9:00 and 10:30. The 9:00 service will be broadcast live on-line via Facebook and YouTube.
  • The church doors will not open until 8:45 a.m. for the first service and 10:15 for the second service. We ask that those who are nervous about arriving at the same time as everyone or those with health concerns, please arrive at 8:45 or 10:15 respectively.
  • If you are in the foyer or hallways, we ask you to not congregate or stop to talk. Please proceed to your seat in the sanctuary.
  • We will conduct communion on the first Sunday of each month, but you will pick the elements up when you enter.
  • The upstairs classroom and foyer will be available as an overflow area for people to attend and watch the service since we are limited in the number of people we can have in the sanctuary.
  • A Family Room (located in the adult classroom) will be open for families with infants and toddlers, who wish to listen to the service but are not comfortable being in the sanctuary. The nursery, toddler and K-5 class will not be staffed for the first several weeks.
We will not have the following until further notice:
  • Coffee, drinks, or snacks will not be offered before or after the service.
  • We will not print bulletins initially.
  • Pens and bibles will not be available in the sanctuary. Please bring your own from home.
  • Children’s and adult Sunday School resumption dates have not yet been determined.
Notes for Families/Youth:
  • The K-5 and Preschool classes will meet during the 10:30 service. There is no staffed nursery at this time. We understand kids make noise and that’s ok. They are welcome in the sanctuary!
  • The family room is available, if you need to go in to change your child or to just give them a break from the service.
  • If possible, we ask only one parent to take child(ren) to the family room or the restroom as needed.
