COCINACoalition of Children in Need Association (COCINA) is a U.S.-based 501 (c) (3) charitable organization that was formed in 1990. It was established to provide financial and management support as well as foster U.S./Haitian partnerships to aid a Christian-based private school (Institution Univers) in Ouanaminthe, Haiti.

Since its beginning in 1990, COCINA has grown from a humble one room pre-school into multiple intiatives including a preschool-13th grade school, a 3-story hospital, and economic development initiatives.

COCINA believes the only avenue to eradicating poverty in Haiti is through providing quality education, healthcare and economic development for its citizens. COCINA’s board of directors are all volunteers and its paid leadership, on the front lines in Haiti, are all Haitians who receive fair compensation and treatment in their occupations.

COCINA is helping thousands of individuals and families in Ouanaminthe to improve their standard of living by providing access to quality education, unrivaled healthcare and grassroots economic development. We support change in Haiti from the inside out.
